C-8900 valve, derived from C-6940 series, is provided with straight-way globe body and cage trim. The pressure reduction is performed through two stages: the first one is intended for flow control (inside the body), while the second one is a fixed throttling section (orifice plate or labyrinth muffler).
The steam coming out from the silencer after valve body enters the desuperheater injection chamber through an annular section where the velocity is kept at a suitable valve to enhance the desuperheating efficiency.
Typical applications: Bypass of medium and low pressure steam turbines with operating temperatures below 540°C, cogeneration power plants, and continuous operation scenarios that require strict closure.
