D-3000 Adjustable Nozzle Integrated Desuperheater

The LV type nozzle is the basic component of all D-3000 series desuperheaters.

When plug is opened, due to the multi-spiral flow channel design, water flows through the nozzle opening in a spiral manner, causing the spray water to form a swirling flow before contacting the conical surface of the plug.

Due to the above special designed flow channel, the desuperheating water is completely atomized after passing through the 85° nozzle cone surface.

When using a typical fixed cross-section nozzle, as the outlet cross-section remains constant, the spray water velocity decreases when the flow rate drops; however, with the LV type nozzle, the plug sets automatically reducing the meatus with the nozzle body, reducing the differential pressure up to balancing the spring load. Due to spring preload , water velocity in the meatus is kept satisfactory high also for low water flow rates.

Therefore, the LV type variable cross-section nozzle guarantee steady sprinkling independently of the water flow rate.
